Readers, we have made it to June. Memorial Day, the unofficial kickoff to summer, has passed. Swimming pools are open for business, it’s fashionably acceptable to wear white, and ice cream truck jingles repeat like a broken record in the balmy evening air. Yes, it’s summer.
For some of you, summer classes start next week. But because you don’t want to miss out on any summertime fun, many of you will be cramming homework into your family vacations. I’ve even heard of a student who emailed a paper while on a trip to Disney World. But, as a busy CLS student, you’re used to this routine.
So, readers, I have one more assignment for you. No need to cue the groans though; this is a fun one. As you’re loading up the family truckster and taking the tribe cross-country, don’t forget to pack your OU gear – t-shirts, hats, bumper stickers, Snuggies, whatever – and take a picture of yourself or your kids with said gear while you’re on vacation. We want to see “where you OU.” Email your pictures to my co-worker Melissa Caperton, and she’ll post them to the CLS Facebook page. Be sure to include an explanation of where you are and the names of who’s in the picture. Here’s an example of my daughter Hannah next to our Sooner-mobile at the American Basin in Colorado.
It’ll be interesting to see what kinds of pictures we get. Represent the Sooner nation well, fellow travelers!
